Our field learning program to Japan with SMA 4 Magelang was just completed. This program conducted on Oct 21 – 29, 2015 took place in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Eight motivated students accompanied with school principal were enthusiastically participated in the whole programs.
Our program started with an official visit to Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. This official visit was conducted for an hour sharing the aims and purposes of the program with the staff. Our program continued with educational program at Sakado High School in Tokyo. We met principal, teachers and local students and we had lunch together. Completed our tasty lunch we had a school tour guided by Mr. Tatemoto for 30 minutes. It was really good to see and observe local school directly. Our program in Sakado High school ended with classroom activities and culture exchange program where Indonesian students could see and learn Japanese subject and finally they perform our traditional dance called “Saman Dance” from Sumatera Island.
Next morning started with Japanese language introduction program handled by Ms. Toyoko Ashada. We learned basic Japanese character and calligraphy. This is good way to learn the language in direct way from the Japanese instructor. After lunch we continued our education program at Taiken Wellness University in Tokyo. This is one of private university which offer sport education program. SMA 4 Magelang and Taiken University are mutually agreed to sign an MoU in Educational program. We also had campus tour to see exactly how is the campus life in Taiken University. It was such a lovely visit so that students from Indonesia will have wider knowledge about studying abroad. Following up this program Taiken University will visit SMA 4 Magelang on November 12 – 13, 2015 to see the school environment and discuss future programs
As the complementary activities during this program all participants had a chance to visit tourism attraction in Japan such as Desney sea Tokyo, Tokyo Skytree and also Osaka Temple. We do all thanks for kind help from Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Sakado High School Tokyo and Taiken University Tokyo.
